Heartfelt Candle Lighting Poems

According to Jewish tradition, a Bar Mitzvah is truly momentous, a rite of passage in which a 13 year-old makes the rather mystical, magical transition from boyhood to manhood.

So when your child is all set to celebrate his/her bar mitzvah, let us do the honors and write a heartfelt candle lighting poem for you. We'll include 1-2 stanzas for each relative or group of friends lighting a candle. If you have more candles to light, just let us know and we will accommodate you.

Now it’s your turn. Kindly place your order today or simply click the ORDER button at the top of page. Your poetry questionnaire will arrive straight away. Please complete and email back.

Candle number 1
I light for those who passed.
They can't be here in body
But their spirit will forever last.

All my great grandparents,
And Papa Ivan, too.
Thought I never met him,
I feel his love so true.

Nanny and Pappy are the best,
Always do what it takes.
My sleepovers at their house
Mean special breakfast fruit shakes.

Birthday dinners aplenty,
Broadway shows with you.
Come on, Nanny and Pappy,
Let's light candle 2.

Let's hear it for Grandma Cookie,
Who always takes great care.
She drives us in the "Cookie-mobile,"
And always gets us there.

You treat us at the Dollar Store,
And always let us be.
Grandma Cookie, come on up
And light my candle 3.

Bar Mitzvah Candle lighting Poetry

Dear Amy,
"The occasion of David’s bar mitzvah was a big to-do as you can imagine. With all the commotion leading up to the big day, I just couldn't imagine writing the candle lighting poem myself. I'm so happy I discovered you and PoemsToGo. Your questionnaire was so easy. Actually, it was fun to fill it out. And the way you used it all -- to write a personal and utterly original poem covering all our friends, our family and all the wonderful times and memories in David's life. He was thrilled. We were all thrilled. Thanks so much, Amy. I'll tell all my friends about PoemsToGo!"
Sincerely, Debra

Dear Amy,
"You made Jake's Bar Mitzvah absolutely perfect with your speech! I can't tell you how many guests came up to me and said 'Oh my goodness, where did you get that speech?' It was marvelous. You had 'em spellbound Amy. Then, I told them about Poemstogo! Now they know where to go for their next speech. Truly this was spectacular."
Barry C., Long Island, NY.

Thank you very much for all your kind words!
Amy Miller, owner and founder of PoemsToGo.
