Sample Wedding Toast

Dear Allison and Marc,

Allison’s been my very best friend
Since we were in seventh grade.
Having Al in my life
Is having it made in the shade.

She’s altogether bubbly,
So happy, filled with glee.
The kind of girl who’s pure sunshine
And golden hilarity.

I’m thinking about our childhood,
Every weekend a sleepover date.
And let me tell you one and all,
Dear Allison? Well…she’s great.

They should bottle up her spirit.
They should emulate her heart.
If you want to build the perfect person,
With Allison you should start.

She loves to go to movies,
And to Foxwoods, it’s a bet.
If it’s fun, it’s sure for Allison,
On that you’ll never fret.

But good as life has been for her,
It got so darn much better
When she met Marc – a spark was lit
And he set out to get her.

Their close encounter started
One fateful night at O’Toole’s bar.
They saw the future coming,
They knew it’d take them far.

Sweet Allison, so innocent,
And Marc the dreadlock man.
A couple in bright contrast
Imagine it if you can.

But differences on the surface,
Do little to impart.
Sweet Allison indeed had met
The wild man of her heart.

Sure enough they met in the middle,
Like a river meets the docks.
Hey, what do you know…it happens,
Marc, for Al, shed his locks.

He found the girl to make him whole,
He’d be no longer just half.
Most important, Marc would say,
He found the girl who could make him laugh.

So when she sailed to Bermuda
On a great ol’ family trip,
He concocted a scheme of wondrous love.
I tell you, it was a pip!

There’s Allison on her cruise ship,
But when the boat did stop,
Awaiting her was Marc,
And the question he did pop.

She burst her heart with happiness,
And how her soul did sing.
When Marc proposed their marriage
And gave her that diamond ring.

Now they’re here preparing
For their glorious big day.
So much fun for all to see,
It’s coming…it’s on the way!

And me? I’m just in heaven,
Amidst the brightest of our sun’s beams.
‘Cause my best friend in the whole wide world
Will marry the man of her dreams.

Love,

Hilary
